RAK Airways launch their new flights on Sunday the 10th of October 2010

The first two destinations are to Jeddah and Kozhikode (Calicut), India. Both routes will be operated with B737-400 aircraft on a four-times weekly rotation.

Omar Jahameh, chief executive of RAK Airways, said future destinations are being considered in the GCC, Levant, Indian subcontinent and Commonwealth of Independent States.

The airport’s CEO, Roland Blaney, said “ I am delighted to see RAK Airways commencing flights to Saudi Arabia & India. This will provide just the right impetus to tourism, trade and pilgrimages at the right time, and is a massive boost to the regular travellers from the Northern Emirates to both destinations.

We look forward to the airline adding new destinations very quickly, as the demand is obviously there. “
